Michael Charton is a Reference Librarian for the Parsippany Public
Library in Parsippany, New Jersey.
He has been a librarian for 10 years, five of which have been for the
Parsippany Library. His MLS degree is from Simmons College in Boston, MA.
He has been working with the Internet for three years and the world wide
web for a little over a year. He is a member of the Public Relations
Committee for the Parsippany Library where his job is to get speakers for
the public programs. He also chairs the Staff Development Committee where
he runs staff training programs. He is a member of Toastmasters
International, an organization dedicated to helping people improve public
speaking and leadership skills. From this, he has had the opportunity to
do talks for corporations, community groups and Rotary Clubs on how the
public library can serve them.
